# Decentralized Data Servers

Decentralized Data Servers are database servers with a dedicated database for each user of an app or platform (individuals, Micro/SMEs, enterprises or governments) to store and own data. DDS are "[HAT microservers](https://hubofallthings.com)" – each consisting of storage encapsulated by microservices. Every DDS is controlled and owned by 1 DDS owner.

The [Dataswyft One](/learn/platform-overview.md) is a patented infrastructure platform designed to provision, host and manage HAT Microservers.
